Brain food

Back to the drawing board... The MP3, for which I posted a link yesterday, is corrupted. Don't use it; it does nothing but scare cats. I continue to develop a more efficient delivery system.

The brain wave program, on which the MP3 was based, is a great success, however. I worked with a few people, who have multiple sclerosis, over the weekend, to see if the brain wave program could emulate and perhaps replace their cannabis use. (I did not use the MP3. I generated the sounds directly through a PC sound card.) They all experienced the same pain relief and euphoria, as they do with cannabis. Continued usage of the program may, I hope, eliminate the cognitive dissonance, which comes with cannabis use.

To return to the subject of slimming the waistline and enhancing cognition... I grow my own supply of drugs. It is called food, or vegetables. I have yet to write about the nutritional side of things and today is a good day for the basic principles:

Eat a low fat diet. What is good for the heart is good for the brain. The brain is flesh and blood and blood does not circulate well when it is full of fat. In a future page, I'll show how fat literally rots your brain.

Eat a nutrient-dense diet. Your brain needs an immense assortment of nutrients and you do not get them through empty calories. Why stress your organs of digestion, assimilation and elimination with "non-food."

Avoid hypoglycemia. Your brain's only food is glucose. When your blood sugar is low, your brain functions poorly. When you go on a starvation diet, you starve your brain.

Eat a relatively low calorie diet. Don't go hungry, but go light. If you eat low-fat and nutrient-dense foods, you will naturally tend to eat "low-cal."

Eat a balanced diet. Eat a diet, which is a balance of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, non-animal based protein, low-fat dairy and low-fat meat(if you need meat).

Take supplements. I know the 'experts' say you can get enough nutrients in a good diet. But enough for what?? If you are over 45, we need to be working on regeneration, not simple maintenance.

Eat real food. Do not eat processed food. Do not eat pesticide poisoned food. Do not eat embalmed food.

Feed your neurotransmitters. They need special nutrients .

That's it. End of lecture. It's that simple but I'll be explaining in detail...

Any questions??
