Reading this I am left with a desire for deep reflection, whereby I have followed many guru's, teachers, mentors, and have failed to really understand self-knowledge.
It is true that many of us follow these systems for the shear pleasure of having a sense of security, so what happens, when the system fails, the guru dies, the mentor leaves- we are left we ourselves.
I would imagine that this is a false sense of security and yet we chase it like the wind - at least I know I have on many occasions.

This is indeed food for thought.
